Sun Country Airlines announces that seasonal nonstop service will be offered from San Francisco to Honolulu, Hawaii starting in May, with fares as low as $259 one-way, available now at suncountry.com. The additional route brings Sun Country’s total offerings out of San Francisco International Airport (SFO) to five destinations – Minneapolis, Las Vegas, Palm Springs, California, and Portland, Oregon.

“We’re excited to expand our network in San Francisco and provide an affordable option for residents to visit sunny Honolulu,” said Chief Commercial Officer Ted Botimer. “Our focus on low fares and great customer service is a great fit in this market, and we look forward to our continued partnership with the San Francisco Airport Commission.”

“We are excited to welcome Sun Country’s new nonstop service from SFO to Honolulu this spring,” said Airport Director Ivar C. Satero. “With this move, travelers can enjoy Sun Country’s great value together with SFO’s award-winning, world class airport experience.”

The new seasonal service to Honolulu International Airport from SFO starts on May 18, 2019 and initially operates three times per week on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. The flight will move to four times per week starting June 6, operating on Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

This addition is part of a larger network expansion announced by Sun Country Airlines, their largest addition of routes in the company’s history as a scheduled service airline, which includes 19 new routes and seven new airports. The airline has been experiencing record growth over the past year. Sun Country first added new routes beyond its home base of Minneapolis-St. Paul in June 2018, bringing on service from Dallas Fort Worth; Madison, Wisconsin; Portland, Oregon; and St. Louis, which brought the network, at the time, from 53 to 64 nonstop routes. Nashville, Tennessee was added in August 2018, and after this recent announcement, the airline will operate a total of 86 routes across 53 airports, marking a nearly 40 percent growth in routes since June 2018.

New airports being added to Sun Country’s network are Dulles International Airport (IAD), Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR), Chicago O’Hare International Airport (ORD), Philadelphia International Airport (PHL), Sacramento International Airport (SMF), San Antonio International Airport (SAT) and T.F. Green Airport, Providence (PVD).
