Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport Names New Assistant General Manager of Finance and Accounting
Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport has named Bryan Benefiel assistant general manager of Finance and Accounting. Benefiel is an expert in financial reporting and internal controls. In his new role, the certified public accountant will manage and monitor the nearly $1 billion annual budget at the world’s busiest and most efficient airport.
Benefiel began working for Hartsfield-Jackson in October 2012 as director of financial planning and analysis after serving as the director of general accounting for the City of Atlanta from 2009 to 2012.
The new AGM has worked in accounting and finance for over 20 years. Before joining the City of Atlanta, he was the director of accounting for the American Cancer Society. He moved to Atlanta from Oklahoma City in 2004. There, Benefiel served as controller for Accord Human Resources. Before Accord, he was senior auditor for Grant Thornton, a leading audit, tax and advisory firm.
With several designations under Benefiel’s belt, including AAAE certified member (CM), International Airport Professional (IAP), and certified management accountant (CMA), the Purcell, Oklahoma, native is a graduate of the University of Central Oklahoma with a Bachelor of Science in accounting. He completed the Airport Executive Leadership Program at Concordia University and is an active leader in his community of Peachtree City, Georgia.
