Airport Authority CFO William O'Reilly to Retire
Albany County Airport Authority Chief Financial Officer (CFO) William O'Reilly today announced that he will retire after 11 years in the Airport position. Mr. O'Reilly was appointed CFO in 2008 following an extensive search.
In his position as CFO, Mr. O'Reilly was responsible for a $50 million annual budget, financial reporting, cash and debt management, procurement, contract administration, insurance and air service development. Mr. O'Reilly is a Certified Public Accountant and Certified Government Financial Manager.
"William O'Reilly brought his financial expertise to the Airport Authority and under his leadership quickly elevated the Airport to its strongest financial position in its history," said Rev. Kenneth Doyle, Chairman of the Albany County Airport Authority. "Today the Albany International Airport is recognized nationally by airlines and financial rating services for its outstanding financial planning, fiscal management and transparent financial reporting."
Prior to joining the Airport Authority, Mr. O'Reilly had served in a number of positions with the New York State Comptroller's Office including financial reporting, auditing, debt management & administration of state regulations for public authority accounting, investment policies & budgeting. Mr. O'Reilly was involved in the issuance and management of State General Obligations bonds and other state-supported debt.
Mr. O'Reilly has served as a project task force member of the Governmental Accounting Standards Board and as a member of the GFOA Special Review Committee for the Certificate of Excellence in Financial Reporting program. Mr. O'Reilly is a Past President of the New York State Government Finance Association.
In 2015, Mr. O'Reilly was recognized by the Airports Council International-North America as the Financial Professional of the year for small airports.
