Airport Lounge Development (ALD) has opened Phase 2 opening of its shared-use lounge in Terminal E at Boston Logan International Airport. The Club at Boston Logan opened in January, created to serves international arrivals and departures, with easy access Terminal C.
“We opened Phase I in January of this year knowing that Lufthansa would be vacating its lounge space in June. We then took over the space and expanded with a brand-new club,” said James Zackey, ALD’s
marketing manager. “Boston is increasing its international flying and has a steady growth plan in place. We felt Terminal E was a good place to be.”
After an extensive expansion this summer, the new 3,506 square-foot space now seats 82 and includes new restrooms and shower facilities. “When and where we can, we like to include shower facilities in order to provide our guest with amenities they might not find in other lounges,” said Zackey.
Other upgrades include new furniture that includes privacy chairs and dining seating and a new complimentary food menu. “We have introduced a new [combination] privacy chair and workstation,” said Zackey. “The chair has high partitions and allows guest to feel more private for phone conversation or just escape a bit.”
The new space is organized into four zones — Productivity, Replenish, Relaxation and Resting — to help guests get the most out of their airport visit. The lounge serves free premium spirits, beer, wine, sodas and coffee, as well as light snacks, soups and salads. Like all clubs, the space at Boston Logan features the work of local photographer Steve Lipofsky, who spent 23 years as the Celtics and the Boston Red Sox team photographer.
The Club at Boston Logan International has two locations: The Lounge in Terminal C and The Club in Terminal E. Both operate daily from 5:30 a.m. to 1:00 a.m. Day passes can be purchased online or at the lounge for $40.
ALD currently operates 17 lounges globally and provides lounge services to more than 25 airlines. “Since January, we have had six openings: Boston Phase I, Orlando, Baltimore/Washington, Pittsburgh and Boston Phase II,” said Zackey.
