From its early days as a market leader, Fenner-Dunlop has remained quietly involved in the vertical transportation industry as supplier of their patented Starglide belt for moving walkway systems. The Starglide belt has been a key component in moving walks produced by a range of OEM suppliers from its inception as an alternative to the more widely utilized pallet-based systems. Starglide-based belt systems can be found in systems originally installed in the 1970s that are still in service and ones installed in 2021.
The Starglide passenger belt moving walkways, include fire-resistant rubber supported by edge rollers. This results in an improved ride quality for passengers and improved energy efficiencies when compared to pallet-based walk systems. Knowledgeable architects, engineers and owners also prefer the low pit depth requirements and improved traction for walking passengers, particularly when wet.
Thanks to the integration with Michelin, we have developed a patent-pending, complete belt-based walk system. Starglide Belt Moving Walkway boasts amazing energy efficiency, passenger ride quality (better for joints and emitting less noise), reliability (less downtime), and lower total cost of ownership. These key features will enable a better moving walk system than has ever been offered before.
