HOK Names Joshua Stephens as Aviation Leader in Washington, D.C.
Joshua Stephens, AIA, NCARB, DBIA, ACI-NA, an architect with more than 35 years of experience, has joined HOK as a regional leader of A+T for HOK’s D.C. and Southeast offices. Stephens will work to expand the firm’s robust practice across the East Coast.
“The goal of HOK’s Aviation + Transportation is to design the world’s best transportation facilities that make a positive, lasting impression on their users,” said Paul Auguste, HOK’s director of A+T. “Joshua brings a wealth of knowledge and deep understanding of designing airports that enhance the traveler experience and bring value to clients. We’re thrilled he has joined our team.”
An expert in design-build projects, Stephens is an experienced aviation leader, designer, planner and technical architect focused on project management. He has helped deliver and shape more than $4.7 billion in airport projects to date, including for the Los Angeles, San Francisco, Houston, Atlanta, Austin, Nashville and Seattle international airports. Internationally, he has planned, programmed and designed airports in China, Europe and Africa.

An architect, designer and educator, Stephens serves as an architectural advisor at Wake Technical Community College in Raleigh, North Carolina. He was previously an adjunct professor and subject matter expert at North Carolina State University’s College of Design Airport Studio.
