Feb. 5—Passengers flying United Airlines in or out of Bush Intercontinental Airport Sunday experienced delays after a fire, the airport said on Twitter.
Around 7:20 a.m., Houston Fire Department officials put out a fire in the employee laundry room in Terminal C, according to Bush Airport. No customers or employees were injured, according to a statement by United Corporate Communications Manager Aubrey Jackson, but all United traffic at the airport was put on a ground stop from 5:32 a.m. to 7 a.m.
The ground stop caused 23 inbound flights to be delayed, Jackson said. According to the flight-tracking company FlightAware, a total of 71 outbound flights and 48 inbound flights at IAH were delayed as of 3:40 p.m. Sunday.
