Rapid City Regional Welcomes New Deputy Director

Bishop brings 25 years of experience in the aviation industry to his new role, where he will oversee all aspects of the airport's maintenance, operations, safety, badging and security.

Jul. 23—The Rapid City Regional Airport announced the appointment of Brian Bishop as the new Deputy Director.

Bishop brings 25 years of experience in the aviation industry to his new role, where he will oversee all aspects of the airport's maintenance, operations, safety, badging and security.

"We are very pleased to welcome Brian to our team, and we look forward to all he has to offer our great airport," said Airport Executive Director Patrick Dame.

Bishop previously served as the Deputy Airport Director of Operations and Maintenance at Rocky Mountain Metropolitan Airport. His career also includes positions at Salt Lake City International, SkyWest Airlines and Great Western Aviation Flight Services FBO. Bishop has a bachelor's degree in business administration — management from Weber State University and is a certified member of the American Association of Airport Executives.

"I am excited to join such a dynamic team that is passionate about aviation and serving the needs of the surrounding communities. I look forward to continuing their culture of safety and efficiency while assisting to complete the large-scale terminal construction projects that will meet the needs of the traveling public once finished," Bishop said.

Bishop's experience and dedication to aviation will complement RAP's ongoing commitment to providing safe, world-class transportation services in the Black Hills, according to an official press release.
