Leidos Engineering is expanding its airport market team by hiring Enrique Melendez as vice president for ports business development. Melendez brings more than 25 years of aviation program management, business development, systems integration and engineering, business process engineering and IT/security systems expertise.
Melendez worked globally at major world-class airports in master planning, design and implementation capacities. In addition, he has worked closely with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), Transportation Security Administration (TSA) and airlines around the world in partnership with the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), the U.S. Customs and Border Protection and the Department of Defense. Prior to joining Leidos, Melendez managed multi-year, IT/security consulting contracts at Philadelphia International Airport and Baltimore Washington International Airport.
Melendez will lead the sales and business development of Leidos Engineering’s aviation capabilities to ensure stakeholder collaboration on airport programs. His skills in programming, planning, design and construction services will bring greater value for Leidos clients.
Melendez, a certified member of the American Association of Airport Executives, holds two Master of Science degrees in electrical engineering and engineering management from Northeastern University in Boston, Massachusetts. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering from the same institution.
