Interjet Launches Twice Daily Service from DFW to Mexico City
Interjet now offers two flights per day from Dallas Fort Worth International (DFW) Airport to Mexico City. DFW Airport welcomed the low-fare carrier's inaugural flight to International Terminal D with a traditional "shower of affection" water cannon salute and gate celebration. Interjet will serve the route with Superjet 100 aircraft.
"DFW welcomes Interjet as our newest airline," said Sean Donohue, CEO of DFW Airport. "As travel to Mexico continues to flourish and now represents just over 40% of DFW's international passenger travel, there's an even stronger need to provide choices that accommodate flexible schedules and varied price points. Interjet offers travelers low-fare flights to exciting destinations, and DFW Airport is pleased to now be part of that network."
"This new route helps to increase tourism and business opportunities between Mexico City and one of the largest and most visited metropolitan areas in Texas," said Jose Luis Ramirez Magnani, Deputy Chairman of Interjet. "Dallas Fort Worth represents our third destination in Texas, and combined with Houston and San Antonio we will offer 90 weekly flights."
DFW Airport has strategically focused on global expansion and world-class amenities, attracting 11 new international carriers and 22 new international destinations in the past five years. Interjet further solidifies DFW Airport as a key entry point into the United States and strengthens connectivity to Central and South America.
"Mexico is a vital trade partner with Texas and our closest international neighbor. The new service will support more growth between Mexico City and North Texas," said Donohue.
