MCO: Predicts Record Passenger Growth Memorial Day Weekend
AAA is predicting that Orlando will be the top travel destination in the country this Memorial Day holiday and preliminary numbers from Orlando International Airport (MCO) support that prediction.
MCO is expecting a 12 percent increase in traffic this year over last with more than 600 thousand travelers arriving and departing during the five day travel period which starts May 27 and ends May 31.
Due to the heavy volumes, passengers are encouraged to arrive inside the airport at least 2 hours prior to their departure time for domestic and 3 hours prior for international travel.
Orlando International continues to work with the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) to minimize security wait times as much as possible. MCO has employed ambassador staff members to assist passengers with divesting prohibited items and liquids before entering security.
During this busy period travelers are encouraged to practice patience, civility and courtesy towards their fellow travelers, airport and airline employees.
