MSCAA Selects Janice Avery-Walthall to Lead Human Resources

Memphis-Shelby County Airport Authority (MSCAA) has selected Janice Avery-Walthall as its new director of human resources.

As director of human resources, she will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the organization’s Human Resources area, which includes functions such as compensation, benefits, recruitment, employee relations and training. She will report to Airport Authority President and CEO Scott Brockman and will begin her new role on June 16.

“Janice is an ideal hire and a wonderful addition to the Airport Authority team,” said Brockman. “Her extensive experience with human resources management and her background with FedEx will serve her well as she leads this critical area. She will play an integral role in the ongoing reinvention of Memphis International Airport (MEM).”

Avery-Walthall has more than 19 years of experience in human resources, and most recently served as manager of corporate compensation for FedEx Corp., a position she has held since 2011. She has been employed by FedEx since 1997, working in roles that include senior compensation analyst, manager of compensation and her most recent position.

Avery-Walthall is a graduate of Tennessee State University, where she received a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management.
