Gov. McAuliffe, Airport Officials to Celebrate Virginia’s Commitment of $50M for Dulles

July 19, 2016

Virginia Gov. Terry McAuliffe will join officials from Washington Dulles International Airport and other state and local officials on Thursday to commemorate the Commonwealth of Virginia’s commitment of $50 million to help improve the competitiveness of the airport.

The event, which will take place at Dulles International, will recognize the bi-partisan support from the Governor and the Virginia General Assembly, as agreed to in the bi-annual budget passed by the legislature in March and approved on May 20. The funds, which will be distributed in two payments of $25 million, will be used to help reduce costs for the airlines operating at Dulles International, improving the ability of the region’s primary international gateway to attract and grow air service for Northern Virginia and the National Capital Region.
