Cross Grain Brewhouse Debuts at Richmond International Airport
Delaware North and Richmond International Airport on Aug. 24, announced the opening of Cross Grain Brewhouse, a restaurant and bar with a focus on hand-crafted food and local craft beers.
"The Cross Grain Brewhouse concept has been very popular with travelers across the country and we’re excited to bring it to Richmond,” said Steve Bass, regional vice president for Delaware North’s travel hospitality business. “We wanted to provide a place that had great food, great drinks and a great atmosphere. Guests will love the local choices for beers and cocktails, but the open-kitchen concept will really immerse them in the quality of our menu.”
A focal point of the 1,900-square-foot restaurant, which is located in Concourse A of the airport, is its bar featuring rotating taps from Richmond-area breweries. Following an online survey of hundreds of travelers, featured beers for Cross Grain’s opening include selections from Ardent Craft Ales, Strangeways Brewing, Hardywood Park Craft Brewery and Center of the Universe Brewing Company.
“Cross Grain is a welcome addition to the food scene at Richmond International Airport (RIC),” said John V. Mazza, Jr., chairman, Capital Region Airport Commission. “We love the emphasis on local craft beers and house-made menu offerings in Concourse A.”
With a menu driven by Executive Chef Kyle Midgett, Cross Grain Brewhouse will offer travelers a variety of house-made food options to complement its craft beer selection. Select menu items include corn-dusted oysters with house-pickled vegetables, crispy pork tacos with house-cured pork belly and a “When Pigs Fly” flatbread, with house-smoked pulled pork and house-made Pamunkey BBQ sauce.
