CLE: Connecting Threads Exhibit Now on Display

Oct. 6, 2016

Connecting Threads, a Temporary Art Exhibit at Cleveland Hopkins International Airport will be on display now through Jan. 31, in the Stephanie Tubbs Jones Art Gallery on the Lower Terminal Level.

Connecting Threads is a Quilt and Doll exhibit that features quilts and dolls that explore themes of joy, spirituality, peace, brotherhood, inspiration, ethnic culture and/or healing.

The exhibit in part features work from the African American Quilt and Doll Guild, which was founded in 2006 by two retired school teachers; one who was a quilter and doll maker and one who wanted to explore quilting as an art form.

The Airport will host an invitation only artists’ reception on Oct. 7 at 4:30 p.m.

This program was created to showcase the diversity of arts and culture of the Cleveland Plus Region.  Museums, cultural institutions, arts organizations as well as individual artists are afforded opportunities to exhibit their collections of original artwork and photography in the airport.
