Hartsfield-Jackson To Host Fall Job Fair
For the first time, Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL) will host a fall job fair so qualified individuals can launch their careers at the Airport – or with its partners and stakeholders – ahead of the holiday season.
More than 500 jobs will be up for grabs at the Airport Community Job Fair, which runs from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Oct. 19 at the Georgia International Convention Center. The free event will feature more than 40 employers from throughout the Airport community.
Historically, the world’s busiest and most efficient airport has conducted job fairs in the spring. But the upward growth of the economy, coupled with ATL’s huge influx of passengers and the launch of its $6 billion capital improvement program, prompted organizers to add a fall event.
The fall job fair will include a wide variety of positions, from cashiers and cooks to administrators and accountants. Those interested in project manager and engineering jobs will also find a number of options, particularly as ATLNext, the capital improvement program, moves forward.
The fair will feature a mobile unit from Atlanta Workforce Development Agency, an organization that assists job applicants looking for sustainable employment. In addition, laptop computer stations will be available for job seekers required to complete an online application.
The GICC offers limited parking available for $5. Attendees are advised to ride MARTA to the Airport station, connect with ATL’s free SkyTrain and then exit at the Gateway/GICC station.
Attendees should dress in proper business attire and bring at least 10 clean resumes. To register as a job seeker, go to http://atljobfair.eventbrite.com.
ATL’s job fairs continue to grow each year. At the spring fair in March, 4,116 job candidates turned out. By comparison, the Airport’s job fair in 2015 drew nearly 4,000 people, and the event in 2013 attracted some 2,700 individuals.
