First Anniversary of Austrian Airlines’ Miami-Vienna Route – Close to 97,000 Passengers

On Oct. 16, 2015, Austrian Airlines inaugurated its flight service between Miami and Vienna, thus offering another non-stop connection between the U.S. and the Austrian hub at Vienna Airport. In its first year, Austria’s home carrier has already transported close to 97,000 passengers to and from Miami. Austrian Airlines operates its flights from the Sunshine State to Austria´s capital throughout the entire year. The flight duration from Miami to Vienna, corresponding to a distance of 5,220 miles, is about 11 hours, 20 minutes.

In addition, Austrian Airlines will operate a new long-haul destination in North America as of summer 2017. Starting on April 10, a Boeing 777 will take off to Vienna from Los Angeles, the largest city in California, up to six times each week.

In total, Austrian Airlines will offer up to 44 weekly non-stop flights from North America in its 2017 summer flight schedule. This will encompass up to five times per week from Miami, a maximum of six weekly flights each from Los Angeles and Toronto, and up to one flight each day from Washington and Chicago.
