CVG and Local Boy Scouts Honor Veterans

Nov. 11, 2016

For the 12th year in a row, local Boy Scouts help the community commemorate Veteran’s Day by placing more than 400 flags at the entrance of the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport (CVG) in a patriotic display. The flags were placed on Nov. 9, as a way to acknowledge those who have bravely served and those whose loved ones have served.

“As the host for Honor Flight Tri-State, we get to see firsthand how important it is to offer our gratitude to our veterans,” said Candace McGraw, chief executive officer, CVG. “Being able to commemorate them with this flag display is just a small token of appreciation for their huge contribution to our country.”

CVG also honors troops year round in its USO Military Lounges located in Concourses A and B. More than 15,000 military personnel, veterans and families visit the lounges each year. The lounges provide a quiet place to relax and wait for flights, with complimentary snacks and travel items donated by the community. In addition, CVG’s concessionaires provide a discount to traveling military personnel.
