Southwest Florida International Airport Reports October Traffic Increase
During October, 550,316 passengers traveled through Southwest Florida International Airport, an increase of 2.7 percent compared to October 2015. Year-to-date, passenger traffic is up 3.2 percent from the same period last year.
The traffic leader in October was Delta Air Lines with 117,169 passengers traveling to and from Fort Myers. Rounding out the top five airlines were Southwest (108,630), American (100,746), JetBlue (89,960) and United (50,911).
Southwest Florida International Airport had 5,138 aircraft movements (takeoffs and landings), a decrease of 0.7 percent compared to October 2015. Page Field saw 8,874 movements, a 14 percent increase from October 2015. In addition, nearly 2.8 million pounds of air freight moved through Southwest Florida International Airport in October 2016, a decrease of 1.1 percent compared to October 2015.
