General Mitchell Traffic Continues to Rise
Milwaukee County Executive Chris Abele announced Dec. 8, that steady growth at Milwaukee County’s General Mitchell International Airport (MKE) continued in October as the airport saw 4.42 percent more passengers in October 2016 over 2015.
October’s total of 580,416 passengers helped MKE report an increase in passengers in nine out of the first 10 months this year. Year-to-date growth is now at 3.21 percent with 177,599 more passengers using MKE.
“Mitchell International Airport’s easy travel experience with quick, friendly curb-to-gate service continues to attract passengers from not only Wisconsin, but also northern Illinois,” explained Milwaukee County Executive Chris Abele. “Couple that with service from all the major domestic airlines and nonstop service to 37 top destinations throughout the country, and it’s easy to see why people are choosing Mitchell.”
MKE continues to promote its new air service and convenience with the recent launch of its new rebranding and ad campaign, “Wherever Your Heart Desires,” to continue to spread the message that for travelers in Wisconsin and northern Illinois, MKE is the choice airport offering friendly, personal service.
