Goose Island Brings Neighborhood Bar Feel to O'Hare Gates
The Chicago Department of Aviation (CDA) and HMSHost on Dec. 16, celebrated the recent opening of Goose Island bar at O'Hare International Airport with a ribbon cutting. HMSHost collaborated with Goose Island Beer Company, one of Chicago's most iconic and popular local breweries, to bring the new full-service bar experience right to the gates in the B Concourse of Terminal 1.
The Goose Island bar brings the feel of a neighborhood corner bar to O'Hare travelers. Here they can relax at the horseshoe-shaped bar with sweeping views of the tarmac and adjacent gate areas. With an open concept-design, its location is ideal for allowing travelers to keep an eye on their gate while also catching the latest game or news on the big-screen TVs at the bar.
The bar carries eight beers on tap, with a focus on brews that reflect the local region, such as 312 Urban Wheat Ale - inspired by the city of Chicago and densely populated with flavor - as well as vintage ales like Matilda and Sofie. Travelers can also snack on food offerings such as paninis and flatbread pizzas.
With an abundant number of charging stations available at both the bar and accompanying communal seating area, guests can comfortably dine while working and charging their devices before their flight.
To meet the dining needs of O'Hare travelers who don't want to leave their gate, the Goose Island bar uses tablets to conveniently serve them in the adjacent B gate area. Travelers can order from the full menu and pay directly from the tablet; then their order will be delivered directly to them at their designated gate. For those travelers with no time to spare, there is a dedicated grab-and-go area where they can select from an assortment of drinks and snacks perfect for taking on their flight.
The Goose Island bar is located near Gates B1-B4 in Terminal 1. Goose Island bar is also located in the C Concourse in Terminal 1 and the L Concourse in Terminal 3 at O'Hare International Airport.
