Naples Airport Authority Welcomes New Director of Finance and Administration
Michael F. Zonsius, CPA, has joined the Naples Airport Authority as director of finance and administration. Incumbent Sheila Etelamaki, who has held the position since 2011, will retire in March. In his new role, Zonsius is responsible for financial operations for the Naples Airport Authority.
“The airport authority has benefited greatly from Sheila’s expertise and service. We will miss her, and wish her the best,” said Chris Rozansky, executive director, Naples Airport Authority. “In the search process for her replacement, Michael stood out as an exceptional finance professional with extensive experience in aviation and airports. We are pleased to have him join our team.”
An airport professional with 27 years of financial management experience, Zonsius most recently served as general manager for AvPorts, a private airport management firm, overseeing the finance and operations at the Gary Chicago International Airport in Gary, Ind. Prior to AvPorts, he was chief financial officer for the Chicago Department of Aviation, responsible for financial operations at both O’Hare and Midway International Airports.
Zonsius also previously worked for the city of Kansas City Department of Aviation as director of finance, overseeing financial operations at the Kansas City International Airport, Charles B. Wheeler and the Richards-Gebaur Intermodal Transportation Facility, in addition to finance positions at the Greater Rockford Airport Authority and the Palwaukee Municipal Airport (now known as the Chicago Executive Airport).
He holds an MBA from DePaul University and a bachelor’s degree in aviation technology from Purdue University. Zonsius is a licensed certified public accountant in Illinois and licensed commercial pilot.
