CEDIA Selects Middle Atlantic Rack and Power Solutions for Airport Theater
Middle Atlantic Products is proud to support the new Hollywood Theatre at Portland International Airport (PDX). Part of a special AV integration project helmed by CEDIA, the Hollywood Theatre presented the opportunity for the AV community to come together to support the organization in creating a world-class cinematic experience for travelers. Middle Atlantic was among a select group of manufacturer members that donated equipment to the cause, selecting an ERK series rack and IsoCenter power solution for the free, 17-seat microcinema located in Concourse C.
"The Hollywood Theatre at Portland Airport is a truly unique project and we wanted to make sure it had best-in-class technology," said Ron Fleming, VP of business development at CEDIA. "We are grateful to all of our technology partners for their gracious donations to the project."
The microcinema was developed by Portland's nonprofit Hollywood Theatre, in collaboration with the PDX Art program at the Port of Portland. The theater will feature short films by Oregon filmmakers and host special events and visiting guests. Airport travelers will be able to see the program — which will play on a loop and be updated quarterly with new films — any time of day.
A grand opening ceremony was held on Feb. 23, with attendees able to view the first collection of short films by regional artists and filmmakers. The theater was designed by Dennis Erskine Group and features AV solutions donated from Middle Atlantic, Planar, Triad Speakers, Optix, Barco, Crestron, and more. The technology was integrated by Lewis AV and calibrated by REAL AV.
