Southwest Florida International Airport Reports March Traffic

During March, 1,252,124 passengers traveled through Southwest Florida International Airport, a slight decrease of 1.4 percent compared to March 2016. Year-to-date, passenger traffic is down 2.8 percent from the same period last year.

The traffic leader in March was Southwest with 303,545 passengers traveling to and from Fort Myers. Rounding out the top five airlines were Delta Air Lines (247,253), American (151,735), Spirit (132,142) and JetBlue (129,141).

Southwest Florida International Airport had 10,535 aircraft movements (takeoffs and landings), a decrease of 1.3 percent compared to March 2016. Page Field saw 10,579 movements, a 1.1 percent decrease from March 2016. In addition, more than 3 million pounds of air freight moved through Southwest Florida International Airport in March 2017, an increase of 6.2 percent compared to March 2016.
