Sacramento Airport’s Food and Beverage Program Takes Top Honors

The food and beverage program at Sacramento International Airport (SMF) has been awarded first place for medium-sized airports in the prestigious annual competition sponsored by Airports Council International-North America (ACI-NA).

The award is for overall excellence and includes concessions in both Terminal A and Terminal B.

The food and beverage concession program at Sacramento International Airport is a mix of local, regional and national concepts that create a sense of place reflecting Sacramento's role as the gateway to Northern California.  Concessionaires offer locally-sourced, seasonal ingredients, giving customers the opportunity to relax and enjoy meals reflective of farm-to fork capitol of the world. 

The Terminal A food court, which was remodeled in 2016, features local faves Paesanos, Iron Horse Tavern and the Squeeze Inn. Terminal B, which opened in 2011,  features only-in-Sacramento eateries Esquire Grill, Jack’s Urban Eats, Dos Coyotes, Burgers & Brew, and Cafeteria 15L.

“We’re happy that our efforts to create an exceptional food and beverage experience have been recognized,” said Director of Airports John Wheat.

This year’s contest received more than 180 nominations from airports of all sizes throughout the U.S. and Canada.

“The ACI-NA Excellence in Airport Concessions Awards recognizes the most innovative and outstanding airport concessions,” said ACI-NA President and CEO Kevin M. Burke.  “Sacramento International Airport is a great example of the impressive work airports are doing to improve the passenger experience.”
