Air Canada Launches Nonstop Service Between Memphis and Toronto
Air Canada’s nonstop flights between Memphis International Airport (MEM) Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ) launch May 1, marking the first daily international flights at MEM since 2012.
The first arrival from Toronto will land in Memphis at 3:35 p.m., with the first departure scheduled for 3:55 p.m.
Air Canada previously operated at MEM from 2010 to 2012. The airline will use a 50-seat Bombardier CRJ200 for the route.
“Air Canada is very pleased to be starting daily service to Memphis International Airport from Toronto. As the only Canadian carrier offering non-stop service to Memphis from Canada, we know the route will be appealing for Canadians drawn by the city’s rich musical and historical heritage. This new flight will also give people in Memphis and the surrounding region ready access to our growing global network on Air Canada’s 4-Star service though our convenient Toronto hub.” said Lisa Pierce, Senior Director, USA Sales and Marketing Development.
“We are thrilled to welcome back Air Canada, and are excited to return daily international service to our passengers,” said Pace Cooper, Chairman of the Memphis-Shelby County Airport Authority board of commissioners. “This route is more than a connection between Memphis and Toronto – it opens up many international connections for Memphis travelers.”
In addition to opening a new connection between Memphis and Toronto, this route will offer a gateway to more than 160 international destinations due to Air Canada’s worldwide presence. Memphis passengers will have one-stop connectivity that was not previously available to 41 international destinations including Budapest, Copenhagen, Dubai, Vienna, Warsaw, and many Canadian cities.
