Two airlines started service on June 4, at the Boise Airport. Southwest Airlines began nonstop service to San Diego while Alaska Airlines added mainline service for one flight each day to Seattle.
Southwest’s San Diego service will operate one flight daily, Monday – Friday, utilizing a Boeing 737. Southwest Airlines joins Alaska Airlines as the two carriers providing nonstop service to San Diego.
Alaska has traded out a smaller regional jet for a Boeing 737 mainliner for the flight to Seattle. This upgauge in aircraft adds approximately 70 seats daily to the Seattle market. This change will impact just one of their eight daily flights to Seattle. They are one of two airlines to fly nonstop to Seattle, along with Delta Air Lines.
