Rock & Brews, the energized restaurant and entertainment brand co-founded by rock icons Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley of KISS, prevailed over international competition at the 2017 Airport Food and Beverage(FAB) conference in Toronto recently, winning “Bar of the Year” award.
The first airport location for Rock & Brews was introduced at Terminal 5 at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) in 2013 by Crews, a leader in introducing dynamic restaurant and retail concepts at airports. The winning Rock & Brews is Crews’ second Rock & Brews located at Terminal 1 at LAX. The popular restaurant, which opened in 2016 and generated $11 million in revenue during its first year of operation, offers travelers quality American comfort food at affordable prices, and a full bar that offers broad selection of international and craft beers in an atmosphere that pays tribute to classic rock and roll.
“We are continually looking for brands that will excite and serve travelers at airports, and Rock & Brews has exceeded our wildest expectation,” said Robert Crews, president and CEO of Crews. “We are honored that Rock & Brews in the Southwest Terminal at LAX was recognized as having the best bar, beating out more than 200 entrants worldwide.”
In their sixth year, The FAB awards annually recognize the best and most innovative concepts in travel-related food & beverage. The event is organized by The Moodie Davitt Report and The Foodie Report.
“Congratulations to Crews and Rock & Brews for the well-deserved honor of Airport Bar of the Year,” said Robert Van Snik, Senior Vice President of Westfield, LAX Terminal 1 operators. “Crews is a great partner and a true pioneer in the industry, inspiring participation from unique, emerging brands and local businesses. Great partnerships like this enhance and transform the travel experience and wonderfully demonstrate that we can do so much more when we work together.”
