CVG Terminal and Concourses Get a Makeover
Beginning Aug. 28, travelers at the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport (CVG) will see upgrades to the Terminal and Concourses throughout the remainder of 2017 and early 2018 as part of a $6 million Terminal Modernization project.
Construction begins Monday, and will be completed in six phases by Spring 2018 with an emphasis on minimizing disruption to passengers.
The first thing travelers will see is a floor-to-ceiling makeover in baggage claim that includes more energy-efficient lighting, new carpet and wall treatments. The ground transportation center will also be renovated, and new carpet will be installed in the walking tunnel connecting the Terminal and Concourses. All of which is targeted for Fall/Winter 2017-2018.
In upcoming phases of the project, the CVG curb front will get brighter lighting and simplified signage for better wayfinding. Upgrades will be made to parking vestibules and the parking garage tunnel, and new carpet will be installed in the Terminal ticketing level as well as Concourses A and B.
“As CVG embraces what’s next, this Terminal Modernization project delivers on our mission to provide an unforgettably positive experience for our passengers,” said Candace McGraw, chief executive officer, CVG. “We’re building on the sense of place currently in our Terminal and Concourses, for passengers to feel welcomed home or welcomed to our region, by incorporating regional branding elements inspired by the Roebling Bridge and Ohio River into the design.”
