Southwest Announces Nonstop Service From Austin to Sacramento, San Francisco
Southwest Airlines has announced new daily nonstop service from Austin-Bergstrom International Airport (AUS) to California’s Sacramento International Airport (SMF), along with nonstop service to San Francisco (SFO), and Sunday only service to Indianapolis (IND). The new Southwest flights from Austin to Sacramento, San Francisco and Indianapolis will begin on April 8, 2018 and tickets will be available for purchase only at www.southwest.com.
Southwest’s new daily flight to Sacramento will depart AUS at 7:55 p.m. and arrive at SMF at 9:45 p.m. Flights depart SMF at 6:30 a.m. and arrive at AUS at 11:50 a.m.
New Southwest nonstop service to San Francisco will depart AUS at 3:30 p.m. and arrive at SFO at 5:25 p.m. Flights depart SFO at 5:55 a.m. and arrive at AUS at 11:30 a.m. All times are local.
“The new nonstop of Sacramento makes connecting capital to capital easier than ever,” said Jim Smith, executive director of Austin-Bergstrom International Airport. “With this new daily service plus another option to San Francisco, Southwest now connects our Central Texas travelers to four airports in Northern California.”
The Southwest nonstop route from Austin to Indianapolis (IND) will depart on Sundays from AUS at 1 p.m. and arrive at IND at 4:20 p.m. Flights depart IND at 4:20 p.m. and arrive at AUS at 6:05 p.m.
Earlier this year Southwest started summer seasonal service to Pensacola (PNS) on June 10, Panama City (ECP) on June 4, and nonstop service to Kansas City (MCI) on Mar. 13. Including Sacramento, San Francisco and Indianapolis, Southwest now offers 68 daily departures from Austin and is the airport’s largest carrier providing service to over 4.7 million Austin passengers in 2016.
