Kevin Shirer to Join Columbus Regional Airport Authority as Director of Asset Management
Kevin Shirer, an Accredited Airport Executive, will become Director of Asset Management for the Columbus Regional Airport Authority effective Sept. 25.
Shirer will provide strategic direction for the CRAA team that manages technical and operational systems such as the computerized maintenance management system, inline baggage handling system and CAD/GIS systems associated with John Glenn Columbus International Airport, Rickenbacker International Airport and Bolton Field airport.

Shirer’s 32-year, diverse aviation work has been focused primarily in the western United States. Most recently he served as Program Director for Woolpert in Englewood, Colorado, where he succeeded in leading technical GIS and asset management projects at airports both large and small. His GIS/CAD, airport planning, project management, environmental and airport operations expertise has benefited, among others, Phoenix Sky Harbor International, Reno-Tahoe International, Tucson Airport Authority, San Antonio International and Chicago O’Hare airports.
As an Accredited Airport Executive, Shirer has achieved a reputation of technical excellence. He is recognized as an industry leader in GIS and CAD/BIM data interoperability, has presented at numerous conferences and is the recipient of two Esri Special Achievement in GIS awards. He also holds an FAA IDLE Level 3 certification and a Bachelors of Science Degree in Air Transportation Management from Arizona State University.
