OneJet Kicks Off Major Expansion at MKE
Milwaukee County Executive Chris Abele announced the kickoff of OneJet’s expanded nonstop service at General Mitchell International Airport (MKE). With the expanded service, OneJet now has twice-daily service to Columbus, Omaha, and Pittsburgh.
‘When OneJet started service at MKE two years ago, we knew it was going to be a big success, and we are pleased that OneJet is growing by adding flights, destinations, and employees right here in Milwaukee,” County Executive Abele said. “We are very proud to be chosen as the second base of operation for OneJet.”
OneJet's new operating base at MKE is expected to add 30-50 jobs within the next six months, including local pilots, mechanics and staff. With the expansion, OneJet now flies a total of 60 nonstop flights to and from the Milwaukee area each week.
“Today’s celebration of new nonstop flights to Columbus and Omaha, along with its existing OneJet service to Pittsburgh, will be a huge hit with travelers looking to access these markets nonstop,” added Airport Director Brian Dranzik.
