Nov. 8, 2017

The Austin-Bergstrom International Airport welcomed Air Canada’s decision to increase capacity, by serving the route with a larger Embraer EMB 190 aircraft, on its daily nonstop flights to Toronto’s Pearson International Airport (YYZ).  Beginning May 1, the upgraded service will provide 21 more seats per flight between Austin and Toronto.

“Air Canada’s increased commitment to the Austin market is welcome news. The service between Austin and Toronto connects two cities that serve as worldwide beacons for what a 21st century economy looks like,” said Doug Driskill, Dell Executive and Chair of the Greater Austin Chamber of Commerce’s Air Service Task Force. “The increased service and additional seats provide more opportunities for job creators in both markets and will encourage more synergy between these two cities that are driving economic activity in North America.”

The larger Air Canada aircraft will feature nine Business Class seats and 88 main cabin seats. The daily nonstop flight departs Austin at 5:30 p.m. and arrives in Toronto at 9:45 p.m. In the opposite direction, the nonstop flight departs Toronto at 2:30 p.m. and arrives in Austin at 4:55 p.m. All times are local. Tickets are available at www.aircanda.com/us or call tel:1-800-237-66391-888-247-2262.

We are pleased to be able to offer the community more service on this route, which has been performing very well with strong demand from business and leisure travelers, many of whom connect through our Toronto global hub to destinations around the world with only one convenient stop. The support of the Austin-Bergstrom International Airport has been essential to our success and we also thank customers for choosing to fly with Air Canada,” said Lisa Pierce, Senior Director USA Sales and Marketing at Air Canada.
