Zachary Bass Named 2017 Oregon Airport Manager of the Year
Redmond Municipal Airport(RDM) Director Zachary Bass was recently named the 2017 "Airport Manager of the Year" by the Oregon Airport Management Association(OAMA). Recipients of the award are nominated for significantly contributing to the field of airport/aviation management, performing a high level of service to the aviation community and traveling public, and/or for improving the safety of the Oregon aviation environment.
“This award is truly a testament to the hard work, dedication, and professionalism of all Redmond Municipal Airport employees and its stakeholders,” commented Bass during OAMA’s October 24th awards banquet in Creswell Oregon. “Over the past year, the RDM team successfully managed the $18 million-dollar reconstruction of Airport’s main runway and subsequent three-week closure, construction of a new USFS Central Oregon Interagency Dispatch Center, reconstruction of taxiway Bravo, added a new direct flight to Phoenix, Arizona and five daily flights to existing destinations, as well as multiple customer service initiatives.”
Zachary Bass has served as the Redmond Municipal Airport director since January 2016. Prior to being hired by the city of Redmond, Bass spent nine years in the United States Air Force. His tenure included training Air Force Officers, direct oversight of 100-plus Active Duty personnel and six operations, administrative overview of 400-plus Air Force Reserve personnel, Assistant Professorship of Aerospace Studies, serving as a Business Operations Manager, as well as a deployment in Iraq.
