CVG Receives Award for Miniature Therapy Horse Program

Dec. 4, 2017

The Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport’s (CVG) miniature therapy horse program won another industry award, this time from Airport Council International – North America (ACI) for best customer service program.

CVG’s partnership with Seven Oaks Farm began in 2016 and brings miniature therapy horses to the airport’s Terminal twice a month. The program is the only of its kind and is a unique nod to Kentucky’s legendary equestrian history. The purpose is to ease passengers’ anxiety and deliver on CVG’s mission to provide passengers an unforgettably positive experience.

Customer reaction to CVG’s equine friends has been phenomenal. From selfies to viral videos, the horses wearing CVG vests or decorative holiday garments are all the rage. Travelers have taken to social media to ask when the horses will be at CVG so that they can make their travel plans around days when Seven Oaks Farm visits.

Seven Oaks Farm, a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, provides the program free of charge with a mission to “provide mobile therapeutic services to children and adults through equine assisted activities leading to positive mental, emotional and physical benefits.” During this season of giving, donations are accepted at: http://www.therapyhorses.com/donate.

“Each donation to Seven Oaks Farm Miniature Therapy Horses goes a long way into furthering our mission, impacting those in our community and bringing love, joy and hope to those in the greater Cincinnati area,” said Lisa Moad, Seven Oaks Farm. You can follow the horses and when they’ll visit CVG on Twitter at @ittybittyhorses or using #therapyhorses.

In addition to the first place award for its miniature therapy horse program, CVG received several honorable mentions from ACI, including:
