Jan. 25, 2018

HMSHost and Birmingham-Shuttlesworth International Airport celebrated the grand opening of a new Starbucks store in the baggage claim area of the airport. This opening marks the third Starbucks location in the airport and gives travelers and airport visitors convenient pre-security access to the nation’s leading coffeehouse experience. Travelers and guests celebrated with samples of signature Starbucks sandwiches, pastries, and Starbucks caramel lattes.

“HMSHost is delighted to open a new Starbucks for Birmingham travelers and the airport community,” said HMSHost Vice President of Business Development Kent Vanden Oever. “We thank the airport for their valued partnership and for this opportunity to give both travelers and those awaiting arriving passengers a place to relax and enjoy Starbucks beverages and food.”

“BHM is extremely excited to be able to provide this national favorite offering to our pre-security options for our passengers and visitors. We look forward to visitors and greeters coming in to enjoy a Starbucks break while they wait for their parties to arrive. We appreciate the longtime partners, both in the airport and in the community, we have in HMSHost,” said Toni Herrera-Bast, Birmingham Airport Authority PR/Marketing Manager.

In addition to this new Starbucks store on the pre-security baggage claim level, HMSHost also operates Starbucks stores on Concourse A and in the Concourse B/C food court in Birmingham-Shuttlesworth International Airport. HMSHost also operates Jim N’ Nicks Bar-B-Q, The Local @ BHM, and the handcrafted burger concept Grounded in Birmingham, among other dining locations. A list of HMSHost-operated locations at the airport is available on the HMSHost location finder map.
