Pret A Manger Opens Its First Shops in Scandinavia in Partnership with HMSHost International

Feb. 2, 2018

Pret A Manger is getting ready for take-off at Copenhagen Airport, with its first Scandinavian shops due to open on Feb. 7 and 8. The fresh-food company will be bringing its menu of handmade, natural food and organic coffee to the region for the first time, in partnership with HMSHost International.

The first shop (opening on 7th February) will be located in the main Terminal 2 check-in area, with a comfortable and spacious seating area for 160 customers. This will be joined by a second shop by the Metro station in Terminal 3 (opening on 8th February).

Both shops will offer Pret’s popular menu of sandwiches, salads, wraps, baguettes, hot food, yoghurt and fruit pots, and sweet treats, alongside juices, smoothies and organic hot drinks. Using fresh, high quality, local ingredients, all of Pret’s fresh items will be prepared in an on-site dedicated kitchen every day. The menu will include: The Posh Cheddar & Pickle Baguette, Classic Super Club Sandwich, Swedish Meatball Hot Wrap and Wild Crayfish & Avocado Salad as well as a large range of vegetarian food.

Opening in Copenhagen Michael Haley, director of partnerships at Pret, said, “Finding a quick, fresh and nutritious meal while travelling can often be difficult, and we’re pleased we can now play a part in making it even easier for passengers travelling through Copenhagen Airport. Opening for the first time in Scandinavia is an exciting move for us and it gives us a great opportunity to introduce delicious Danish bacon into some of our recipes for the first time.”

Walter Seib, CEO of HMSHost International said, “We are excited to start this important partnership with Pret A Manger. Pret is known for its responsible approach to doing business and its focus on local communities. We share a similar vision, as we are focused on sustainability, food quality, freshness and innovation.”

Lise Ryevad, Director of Airport sales at Copenhagen Airport A/S, said, “As the Nordic hub, we at Copenhagen Airport aim to provide our passengers with exceptional, authentic culinary experiences, both through international icons and local brands. It therefore gives us great pride to welcome Scandinavia’s first Pret A Manger shops to Copenhagen Airport. With an internationally recognised brand such as Pret, we are able to offer yet another unique experience to our guests, whether they’re passing through the airport as passengers or here to pick up family, friends or business associates.”

The Terminal 2 shop will be open 24/7 and the shop by the Metro station in Terminal 3 will be open daily from 4.30am-10pm. The shops will be operated by HMSHost International.

Local charity partner

Since Pret first opened its doors in London in 1986, the company has donated unsold food to the homeless. As part of Pret’s commitment to help alleviate the pressures of homelessness, the shops at Copenhagen Airport are very proud to be partnering with a local charity, Morgencafé for Hjemløse, who will be collecting unsold food from Pret’s shops at the end of each day. Morgencafé for Hjemløse aim to reduce homelessness and help improve the living conditions for the disadvantaged.
