Southwest Airlines is expanding service to New England with the announcement of new non-stop service between St. Louis Lambert International Airport (STL) and Hartford, CT (BDL).
Southwest Airlines released its fall schedule that includes the new service to Bradley International Airport beginning Aug. 7. BDL is the second busiest airport in New England located between New York City and Boston. The new flight will depart STL daily at 4:25 p.m. for a 7:50 p.m. arrival in Hartford. The inbound flight from BDL will arrive at STL daily at 12:45 p.m.
“This is great news for our region because Hartford was one of our top priorities for new service,” said STL Airport Director Rhonda Hamm-Niebruegge. “This gives us greater access to and from New England. The demand is there between our regions with a number of business connections like insurance, higher education, research and science fields.”
In addition to Hartford, Southwest also announced for its August schedule an additional non-stop flight to Philadelphia, PA (PHL), expanding to three flights a day. By August, Southwest will operate a peak of 114 daily departures to 46 non-stop destinations. A year prior, Southwest operated 105 daily flights to 42 destinations.
