Norfolk International Airport to Give Passengers Sweet Treats May 11
Norfolk International Airport and the Coastal Virginia Tourism Alliance celebrate the power of travel during National Travel and Tourism Week with ‘Thank the Visitor Day’ on May 11. Passengers and visitors will be greeted by volunteer airport ambassadors on the concourses and will receive complimentary cookies as a way of saying “thanks for flying ORF.” Additionally, tourism professionals from Chesapeake, Eastern Shore of Virginia, City of Franklin-Southampton County, Hampton, Newport News, Norfolk, Smithfield-Isle of Wight, Suffolk and Virginia Beach will distribute tourism information and giveaways in the main departures terminal lobby. Travelers and guests are invited to snap a photo at the new “LOVE is in the Air” sculpture in the Arrivals Terminal and post to ORF’s Facebook or Instagram pages for a chance to win a $500 travel certificate on any airline serving ORF.
Norfolk International Airport has celebrated Thank the Visitor Day for 20 years, and it is anticipated that 3,000 bags of cookies will be distributed. The cookies will be given away beginning at 9:00 a.m. until supplies last.
