Delta Launches Inaugural Nonstop Flight from Indy to Seattle

June 18, 2018

Delta Air Lines Flight 1215 will take off out of the Indianapolis International Airport (IND) June18, marking the airline’s inaugural year-round, nonstop flight to Seattle-Tacoma International Airport.

The flight is scheduled to depart at 6:15 p.m., and will arrive in Seattle at 7:30 p.m. local time. This flight also signifies another milestone for the Indy airport, as it will now connect to all Delta hubs throughout the United States.

The new Delta flight becomes the second nonstop flight from Indy to Seattle, following Alaska Airlines' inaugural nonstop flight that launched May 2017.
Indianapolis Airport Authority Executive Director Mario Rodriguez said the new Delta flight expands the airport’s growing West Coast connection, which has hit a historical level over the past two years with flights to Los Angeles, Oakland, San Diego, San Francisco and Seattle.

“This is a significant achievement given many of those flights are connecting right into the heart of the nation’s burgeoning tech sector, and that compliments Indiana’s technology industry growth – which is tripling the national rate,” said Rodriguez.

Nonstop flights into cities like Seattle, San Diego and Las Vegas also create a direct path to key conference destinations and expo industries.

“This new direct flight connects Western Washington, one of the game and tech industry’s most important hubs with Indianapolis, a home of world-class hospitality and a growing gaming hub in its own right,” said Jake Theis, director of marketing for Gen Con, North America’s largest and longest-running gaming convention. “Gen Con attendees arrive from all 50 states and 64 countries, and unlocking new direct flights helps reduce travel times and gets folks playing games even quicker.”
