Frontier Launches Nonstop Service from MKE to JAX
Milwaukee County’s General Mitchell International Airport (MKE) and Frontier Airlines launched new seasonal nonstop service from Milwaukee to Jacksonville International Airport Aug. 15. The celebration in the gate area featured a golf theme, as greater Jacksonville is home to the PGA and the World Golf Hall of Fame.
“What a fantastic day to celebrate new service to a destination that has never been served nonstop from MKE,” Airport Director Brian Dranzik said. "Frontier’s low fares combined with our Airport’s inexpensive parking options will draw many new travelers to MKE who have been looking for a nonstop option to northeastern Florida."
In addition to making a putting green available to passengers on the first flight to Jacksonville, many PGA door prizes were given to randomly selected passengers. The grand prize included a two-night stay at the Renaissance St. Augustine Resort and a round of golf at the Slammer and Squire golf course. All passengers received free tickets to the World Golf Hall of Fame.
The new flights operate twice per week, on Wednesdays and Saturdays, on board full-size Airbus A320 jets.
