RNO and Sun Country to Work on New Flight Plan

Sept. 24, 2018

Sun Country Airlines and Reno-Tahoe International Airport will be working together in the future to find routes that will be successful for both the airport and the Minneapolis-based air carrier.

In the meantime, the recently announced service on Sun Country between Reno and Portland, which was to begin Nov. 16, has been discontinued. While the airport and community partners had marketing plans underway to support the new service in both Portland and Reno, Sun Country halted the service due to very light early bookings.

“We look forward to continuing our strong relationship with the leadership of Sun Country as we consider partnering on future markets that will be the right fit for RNO customers,” Marily Mora, President/CEO, of Reno-Tahoe International Airport, said.

RNO currently offers daily, non-stop service to Portland on Alaska Airlines.
