HMSHost Executive Vice President of Business Development Derryl Benton was elected as vice chair to the Airports Council International – North America (ACI-NA) World Business Partners/Associates Board of Directors.
As the leading trade association for North American airports, the board’s mission is to ensure ACI-NA continues its long history of advocating on behalf of the industry as the Voice of Airports. In this leadership role, Benton joins thought leaders from across the airport and aviation communities to help advance airport industry priorities throughout North America.
"ACI-NA is only as strong as our members and their active engagement. Global restaurateur HMSHost is a proven leader in our association that emphasizes the importance of partnering with all airport stakeholders to enhance the passenger experience for the traveling public," said ACI-NA President and CEO Kevin M. Burke. "I look forward to working with Derryl in his new leadership position to strengthen the airport industry.”
The board’s new 2018-2019 leadership election was announced at the recent ACI-NA Annual Conference and Exhibition in Nashville. ACI-NA is the voice of North American airports, representing local, regional and state governing bodies that own and operate commercial airports in the United States and Canada.
“I am honored to be elected among my peers to this prestigious board. Having served in many aspects of the airport industry for nearly 25 years, I recognize this exciting time we are in with new innovations and opportunities around every corner,” said Benton. “I look forward to bringing the innovative thinking we cultivate at HMSHost and collaborating alongside fellow members to provide new insights that further strengthen and drive the industry forward.”
