Jacobsen|Daniels (J|D) announced Darryl Daniels, AIA, has been recognized by MBE magazine as part of its 2018 feature ”MBEs Who Rock!” This award recognizes minority business owners who have excelled in their industry and are also active in their community. Award honorees were announced at the 2018 National Minority Supplier Development Council (NMSDC) National Conference held in Austin, during a special reception hosted by the magazine Oct. 13.
“AMAC is proud to see Darryl Daniels on the cover of MBE’s Anniversary Issue. He is the epitome of a Minority Business Entrepreneur Who Rocks,” said Krystal Brumfield, president and CEO of the Airport Minority Advisory Council (AMAC). “Diversity and inclusion are at the core of who he is. There is no better example of an MBE who supports, encourages or creates opportunities for other minorities. He deserves this acknowledgment and much more.”
“I’ve known Darryl for over ten years, and it’s been inspiring to witness Darryl’s growth in airports and aviation,” said Ollie Dowell, managing principal at Ollie Dowell Communications of St. Louis. “Instead of finding his own purpose, he focuses on serving a purpose that helps others get certified and win contracts. In turn, that purpose is serving him as he continues to grow his company.”
Daniels is CEO and managing partner of J|D and has nearly 30 years of design, planning, project management, customer service, and principle-in-charge experience at airports. Over his career, he has provided these services for local, state and federal agencies, as well as for private sector clients. He specializes in supporting clients in the transportation industry with a focus on improving the journey from home to the final destination. Daniels has distinguished himself in the aviation sector, where his clients look to his expertise to solve complex challenges through innovative problem-solving. He has served on a number of boards and committees dedicated to fostering the advancement of small, minority, and women-owned businesses.
Daniels holds a Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Notre Dame and a Master of Urban and Regional Planning from the University of New Orleans.
