Three Top Airport CEOs Join AMAC Board of Directors

Nov. 27, 2018

The Airport Minority Advisory Council (AMAC) announced its 2018-2019 board of directors. An election took place at AMAC’s 34th Annual Airport Business Diversity Conference: Inspiring Possibilities, which was held in Seattle in August. Following the election, At-Large Directors were appointed by new Board Chairman John D. Clark III. The AMAC Board of Directors now includes three top airport CEOs representing Philadelphia International Airport, Los Angeles World Airports and Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport.

Clark commented, “I’m excited to welcome Chellie, Deborah and Ricky to the AMAC Board. Their experience will add a fresh perspective to charting AMAC’s future. Their involvement will be critical as we focus on creating new revenue streams; expanding our membership base to attract more airports and construction firms; and preparing and positioning emerging leaders for the C-Suite.” He further added, “I am looking forward to working with the entire Board and our membership to accomplish these goals and challenge all members of AMAC to engage in committees, programming and the various events AMAC provides.”

“As airports across the country prepare for the future, AMAC is perfectly poised to lead the way for women and minorities to be at the forefront of this physical and technological transformation,” said Deborah Flint, CEO, Los Angeles World Airports. “I look forward to welcoming AMAC to Los Angeles in 2019 for an Airport Business Diversity Conference that, like our airports, reflects and advances diversity throughout the industry.

Chellie Cameron, CEO, Philadelphia International Airport added, “I am thrilled to be part of the important work AMAC is doing for minorities and women. Under Chairperson John Clark, this board of industry influencers is poised to make a difference for minority- and women-owned businesses and to help the airport industry improve the diversity of its employee base. I am personally passionate about these issues and can’t wait to get to work!”

“As a longstanding member of AMAC, I am honored to rejoin this board of passionate, innovative, and competent industry leaders. The Chairman is setting a course of action to expand access to business and employment opportunities for women and minorities. I’m excited to be a part of this important journey,” stated Ricky Smith, CEO, Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport.
