Norfolk International Airport Reports on March 2019 Activity
Norfolk International Airport (ORF) reported a 14.68 percent increase in passenger activity for the month of March 2019 with 316,690 passengers, representing the second highest March passenger volume in the Airport’s history. This figure compares to a March 2018 passenger count of 276,141. January to March 2019 total passenger count has increased 14.01 percent representing 818,465 passengers versus 717,913 passengers during the same period in 2018.
In other activity, 5,639,956 pounds of cargo were shipped in and out of the airport during March 2019. This represents a 3.12 percent decrease versus March 2018, which saw 5,821,882 pounds of cargo shipped. January to March 2019 cargo pounds shipped have increased 2.73 percent representing 16,076,794 cargo pounds versus 15,650,272 cargo pounds during the same period in 2018.
The above-mentioned figures are a reflection of the service by scheduled airlines Allegiant, American, Delta, Frontier, Southwest, United and their regional airline partners and charter airlines Miami Air, Sun Country, Swift Air and XTRAirways. Cargo carriers include Federal Express, Mountain Air Cargo and UPS.
