Alliance Statement on the Confirmation of Steve Dickson as FAA Administrator
On July 24, the Senate confirmed Steve Dickson as the new Administrator of the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). In response, the Alliance for Aviation Across America released the following statement:
“We welcome the confirmation of Steve Dickson as our nation’s next FAA administrator. Steve Dickson has extensive experience in the aviation industry, as well as service to his country. We look forward to working with him and other stakeholders to ensure that we support all segments of aviation, and keep passengers flying safely and efficiently.” Dickson recently retired from Delta Air Lines as the senior vice president of flight operations after a 27-year career with the airline, where he flew five different aircraft types, and was in charge of training, technical support and regulatory compliance. Before that, he graduated from the Air Force Academy and served his country as an F-15 pilot. At the FAA, he will manage a staff of 45,000, and oversee key initiatives related to workforce development, certification and modernization of our air traffic control system, among many others.
