Nashville International Airport Sets New Record for Number of Screened Passengers in a Single Day

32,654 departing passengers screened on Sept. 22.

Sept. 22, a record-setting 32,654 departing passengers were screened through the TSA security checkpoint at Nashville International Airport (BNA), a new single-day record for BNA and a considerable increase over the comparable date in 2018.

The previous record was set May 5, with 29,731 screened passengers.

By the numbers:

  1. Sunday, Sept. 22:
  • 32,654 screened passengers, a new single-day record and a 26 percent increase from the comparable Sunday in 2018, and a 10 percent increase over the previous one-day record set in May 2019;
  • 20,589 bags processed, a new single-day record and a 50.4 percent increase from the comparable Sunday in 2018.

On average, approximately 22,000 departing passengers are screened each day at BNA.

Having served more than 17.1 million passengers in Fiscal Year 2019, Nashville International Airport currently hosts 15 airlines and provides nonstop air service to 75 destinations.
