Lisbon airport accelerates its innovation momentum by becoming a VINCI Airports Center of Excellence   A leader in innovative mobility and future-proof digital airport solutions, VINCI Airports teams up for the 4th consecutive year with the Web Summit, Europe’s largest conference on entrepreneurship, technology and innovation, held in Lisbon since 2016.  

Committed to supporting innovation and those who promote it, VINCI Airports is providing exclusive service at Lisbon airport to welcome the 70 000 participants expected from 4 to 7 November, many of whom will arrive by plane from all over the world. Lisbon airport is acting as a friendly gateway to the event, with a dedicated accreditation booth directly at the airport.  

This year, VINCI Airports is also allowing Web Summit attendees to discover at first-hand the latest innovations that will shape the future of digital airports. Vision-Box's Seamless Travel biometric technologies is displayed on VINCI Airports’ stand, for visitors to experience the new friction-less promise of biometrics, automation and artificial intelligence. This technology will inspire the customer experience that Lisbon airport plans to develop on terminal 2 in the near future.  

Web Summit 2019 is also the occasion for VINCI Airports to present the cornerstone of its innovation strategy: the Centers of Excellence (CoE) - and to make Lisbon airport its third CoE alongside London Gatwick and Lyon-Saint Exupéry airports. Lisbon airport will trial the latest technologies in flow management, before rolling out the benefits to all VINCI Airports’ network accross 12 countries. Since VINCI Airports took over operations in 2012, Lisbon airport has been putting innovation at the heart of its operationnal performance. Better time measurement, innovative security checkpoint, biometric border control and fast-track processes have allowed the airport to swiflty absorb a strong traffic growth of +50% while permanently improving flow management and travelers’ experience.
