Airports Council Welcomes Introduction of ‘Moving Forward Act’

Airports Council International – North America (ACI-NA), the trade association representing commercial service airports in the United States and Canada, today welcomed the introduction of the Moving Forward Act(H.R. 2). The Moving Forward Act is a $1.5 trillion proposal to invest in America’s aging infrastructure, including America’s airports. 

"American airports are grateful House Democrats included additional funding for the Airport Improvement Program in the Moving Forward Act,” said ACI-NA President and CEO Kevin M. Burke. “Airports across the country are deferring infrastructure projects as they grapple with the steep, sustained loss in revenue that resulted from COVID-19. The additional funding for airports projects would help them immediately invest in infrastructure that will spur local economic growth by putting thousands of Americans back to work. U.S. airports appreciate the members of both parties who understand the critical role airports play in powering local economies and grasp how travel restrictions related to COVID-19 crippled airports financially.”
